You … you … you oughta know (about Alanis Morissette’s 1995 hit CD)

After spending 15 weeks on the charts, the third studio album from Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette went to #1 in the US on Oct. 7, 1995. “Jagged Little Pill” became the biggest selling album ever by a female artist with sales of more than 30 million units.

At the Grammy Awards, Morissette was awarded Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. The song “You Oughta Know” (her first top-ten hit in the US) garnered Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song. Morissette also received the Best New Artist award.
